The 2016 Humble Pie Cabernet hails from four vineyards in the Central Coast growing region. The majority of the grapes come from Hames Valley, which is known for being one of the warmer regions in the Central Coast, and the San Lucas appellation which has the highest diurnal temperature variations of any appellation in California.
WINEMAKING: After a rollercoaster 2015 vintage, we settled into an ideal 2016 vintage. Mellow, even weather led to normal to above average yields with tremendous quality. Wines from the 2016 vintage are crisp and vibrant. It could possibly be one of the top vintages in the last two decades.
TASTING NOTES: This Cabernet Sauvignon offers up notes of sweet black fruits intermixed with roasted coffee, vanilla, black raspberries, melted licorice and spring
FOOD PAIRINGS: Humble Pie Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with beef tenderloin and summer vegetables, duck and mushroom risotto, and distinctive aged cheeses.
